Modifier Winter PROMO Set

Recent review of Modifier's latest promotional set available for download from www.modifier.tv

"Modifier's new promo set is like the perfect underground radio station you've just stumbled upon, playing the style of electronic dance music that instantly has you hooked. The beats flow like liquid energy, mixing electro, house and breaks, their tracks expertly stitched together. This is club music with depth.

The guys are talented DJs and musicians in their own rights and it comes as no surprise to hear slick production throughout. Interest levels are kept high too, with the mini album progressing well and could quite easily see Modifier stamp their mark as one of Glasgow's best danceable electronic bands of the moment.

Once eased into the set with a lovely piece of classic warm electronica, the pace soon picks up. Track two has distorted vocoded anthem like chants and sees the boys breeze through pulsating electro rock, not just designed to get your feet moving, but your whole body gyrating uncontrollably, great stuff! The fist pumping and feet stomping doesn't stop here however, as up next a more direct big beat electro assault, with hints of acid house creeping in, giving you feelings of that moment right in the middle of the night when you're there, but not wanting things to end, so just keep dancing… It's an epic track, right up the street of electronic lovers and clubbers alike.

From here you are treated to further more crisp beats and hypnotic rhythms, with the set ending on a feast of breaks… hands raised to the air.

It can be a difficult task creating electronic based tracks that can cross over from the dance floor to your home stereo and Modifier look to have cracked it.

With their mastered studio sound, the guys are now well equipped and ready to perform as a live unit and their big beat digitalism will have you blown away. Possessing relentless enthusiasm and stacks of energy, get ready for the duo hitting the sub city club scene and beyond. "

Microrave Records: "Minimal Dub Juice"

Microrave Records: "Minimal Dub Juice" iMix has been published in the iTunes Music store on 6th December 2008!

iMix Description:
Microrave Records (Scotland's newest dance music label) proudly present our debut iMix compilation.

Celebrating our first release, we introduce the dub-fueled techno of Voltergeist (along with a selection of his main musical influences). Blending minimalist and forward-thinking sonic soundscapes with a bass-heavy dub vibe, this mix is sure to satisfy musicians and clubbers alike.

Opening with a hat-tip to techno-veterans The Black Dog (who recently achieved the Album Of The Year 2008 award by DJ Magazine), the classic sounds of UK electronic pioneers Autechre & FSOL are complimented by Deadbeat's incredible underground anthem "Boil", matched with the fresh new sound of dubstep (perfectly represented by genre-leaders Benga & Burial). Full Moon Scientist connect the dancefloor directed 1st half of the compilation with the smoky "tripped-out" 2nd half.

The mix is completed with the beautiful Four Tet track "My Angel Rocks Back And Forth"

The iMix will be available in the iTunes Music Store for 1 year.

Take a second to visit the link and rate the mix with 5 stars ;) And you can buy it too if you like!
