Great news for Microrave Records!!!

Dearest Microrave Friends,

After nearly a whole year of hard graft, near misses, awkward moments, close calls, penny saving, making new contacts and a very steep learning curve... I'm pleased to announce that the new Grand National single "Cut By The Brakes: REMIXED" is out TODAY on my label Microrave Records, available EXCLUSIVELY at Beatport.com!!!

Here's the press release:

"Making the kind of pop music that any discerning music lover would be happy to see dominate the charts this spring, there are numerous influences that go into a Grand National record. From indie to electro to post-punk-pop, the duo's ability to twin solid songwriting sensibilities with tight electronic productions has resulted in debut LP 'Kicking The National Habit' being heralded a national treasure.

Made up of Rupert Lyddon and Lawrence 'La' Rudd, the Grand National sound is that of a fully-fledged band, a singer / song-writer / multi-instrumentalist combination that belies the fact that they are a duo. Influenced by the likes of new wave '80s bands such as New Order and Joy Division, Grand National display a 21st century styling that places them squarely in London's eclectic and varied music scene, with a sound that is as cutting edge as it is retro.

'Cut By The Brakes' takes the GN sound to a darker, more electro-fried place. It's this darkness which prompted the various artists to remix the track and further amplify the "club appeal" of an already danceable track.

Modifier execute a twisted electro-fueled breaks mix, showcasing their phenomenal ability to melt melancholic melodies and atmospherics together whilst driving it home with punchy drum programming and structure. The talented production duo are at the top of their game, and look forward to releasing more music on Microrave Records imminently.

Gung Ho! and Ministry Of Sound favourites The Japanese Popstars add their trademark "hands-in-the-air" club vibe to the track, with a rolling progressive synth line and driving kick which is guaranteed to get any dance floor heaving under the weight of festival revelers this summer.

Emotiquon increase the psychedelia with further kaleidoscopic sonic developments, building on IDM ideas which evolve from breaks, techno and psy-trance. Giving space to Rupert & La's original parts whilst layering so many additional sounds on top is an ambitious approach which has worked incredibly well.

And finally, Voltergeist. After a well received debut mini-album in December on Microrave, fusing dark dub vibes with minimal/tech-house rhythms is the style of choice for this man! A deep, brooding floor shaker reminiscent of early Warp Records releases for late night clubs and intelligent DJs, this is a great track to round off the release."
