Helge Kuhl - Drop Drinking (Modifier Remix)

My good friends Modifier (Glasgow electronica perfectionists featured on Microrave Records release MRR001) have just released an absolutely blinding remix of a track called "Drop Drinking", by Helge Kuhl.

It's been executed perfectly as is expected from Modifier, who are both passionate audiophiles. It's a beautiful and emotive piece of electronica and I can thoroughly recommend that you add it to your digital collection, as a fine example of modern Scottish electronic music.

SHITDISCO - Reactor Party (Emotiquon Remix 2009) by microraverecords

Finally making this old remix sound the best it's ever sounded, and making it easily available to download!

This track first surfaced back in April 2008. Although it sounded a little rough around the edges, it got some cult plays and enthusiastic mentions/reviews on sites like The Hype Machine and Buffetlibre...

Here it is, polished and mastered in CD quality .wav format for you to listen and download! Another white label, this track was never officially released.

The copyright belongs to Shitdisco's label, Fierce Panda!

MAJOR LAZER - Pon De Floor (Voltergeist Version) by microraverecords

Major Lazer is a fictional animated character who (according to press releases) fought as a Jamaican commando and lost his arm in a secret zombie war in 1984. He fights vampires and various monsters, parties hard, and has a rocket-powered hoverboard.

Made up of DJs Diplo and Switch, the two were introduced after working with M.I.A.. The duo's first album, "Guns Don't Kill People... Lazers Do" was released on June 16, 2009 on Downtown Records. It was recorded in Jamaica at Tuff Gong Studios. Vocalists such as Santigold, Vybz Kartel, Ward 21, Busy Signal, Nina Sky, Amanda Blank, Mr. Vegas, Turbulence, Mapei, T.O.K, Prince Zimboo, Leftside and others contribute guest vocals to the album, as well as additional production from Afrojack and Crookers.

*ZE BULA REMIX EP* on Akwaaba!!!

Really good news this morning after a rough couple of months at Microrave HQ. Just found out that the tracklist for the new Akwaaba Music & Mad Decent joint release "Ze Bula Remix EP" has been announced, and features the Voltergeist remix along with 5 other crackers.

It's very encouraging news, and has got me feeling positive about music again!

The original physical 7" single is only available to members of Too Pure Singles Club (the band's UK label), but it can be downloaded from iTunes by clicking on the image above.

The Buffetlibre DJs are the hugely respected engineers of Europe-wide parties, remix projects and free compilation releases, all of which are available to download from their website:

www.buffetlibredjs.net

They are also on tour around Europe, playing UK dates in Edinburgh, Manchester and London to promote their excellent "REWIND" release; a collection of 60 new versions and exclusive remixes of classic tracks from the 80s... It's an essential for any electro/techno/house fan and it don't cost nowt!

Microrave Records tried desperately to book them for a December gig in Glasgow, but they're just too damn popular and there aren't enough venues available!

Check 'em out!
